Last night, I went to one of Charlotte’s premiere bars–World of Beer which is located in SouthEnd Charlotte. The place is loaded with beer of all kinds, approximately 516, and is equipped with the best customer service Charlotte’s nightlife has got to offer.

The above is my all-time favorite one. Just the “dark chocolate” portion is hot! You know dark chocolate is good for your health? I’m just saying. Good use of adjectives.

No More “Med School” for BET The Game
Yesterday, Tia “Melanie/Med School” Mowry tweeted that she would not return to BET’s The Game for Season 6. Reportedly, Pooch “Derwin Davis” Hall will not as well. Both are said to have other projects underway; and there was no reason provided for their leaving.
So with the main characters leaving, who will become the focus? The acting was at its prime Season 1 – 3!
And the current storyline has lost its media buzz and fails hook a loyal audience.
Hmmm … This stinks of bad direction as in “Let’s speak to the directors,” because BET The Game either needs to be saved by better by production or canceled for Season 6.

Recently, Rihanna posted a twitpic of herself hooked up to an IV. This picture ensued after numerous fans inquired about minimal texts earlier this week. The songstress was said to have suffered from exhaustion, having partied at the Met Ball on Monday. Here’s her twitpic!
Amendment One: Is This How We Treat Our Friends?
Today, at the polls, citizens cast their votes regarding Amendment One, a legislatively-referred constitutional amendment, that bans same-sex marriages, civil unions and domestic partnerships.
Voting in favor of Amendment One means that you’re electing that it be added to the state’s constitution which revises Article 14 and explicitly defines marriage as the following:
| Sec. 6. Marriage.Marriage between one man and one woman is the only domestic legal union that shall be valid or recognized in this State. This section does not prohibit a private party from entering into contracts with another private party; nor does this section prohibit courts from adjudicating the rights of private parties pursuant to such contracts. |
Although same-sex marriage is illegal in the state of North Carolina, Amendment One explicitly bans the marriage AND THE LIKE–domestic partnerships and civil unions. Banning such will affect the structure of households that are currently being dishonored by Amendment One.
Medically, more parties of domestic partnerships and civil unions can look forward to increased premiums. If Amendment One is added, these persons who are covered on their partner’s insurance would be dropped and urged to purchase individual policies.
How do you think this consequence combined with the current unemployment rate affect persons who are involved in domestic partnerships and civil unions?
And how does it affect the psyche and quality of life of domestic partners? Amendment One would play negatively on the psyche of individuals who are involved in domestic partnerships and civil unions. With the state prepared not to honor such unions, we can anticipate a stronger shift in thought amongst our local communities in which members would become more vocal and overt, dismissing such unions publicly. Our policies directly define societal norms and with it our train of thought. Legislation is the directive of our lives.
While I understand the importance of “being fruitful and multiplying” as stated in The Good Book, I have an intolerance against publicly shaming or dismissing a person’s right to choose whom they want to love.
Think of our community, our colleagues, our neighbors, friends and family … who are currently honoring a domestic partnership or union. How does this affect their quality of life as they work and live in a state that dishonors a very important aspect of their lives–whom and how they love?

My Top 3 on Netflix
1. Flashpoint–A Strategic Response Team responds to a host of situations where desperate individuals take matters into their own hands. Which one’s the target? A corrupt politician or a kidnapped hostage held against her own will for 8 years? You have to watch and see. My favorite episode is the one where the father fights for his daughter’s heart, literally. (Action. Guns. Police)
2. The Chicago Code–I smell a sleazy politician who has turned Chicago into his personal playground. Watch to see if he’s caught or not by Chicago’s first female Lieutenant. (Action. Corruption. Police)
3. Archer–This adult cartoon delivers satire, punchlines, and more, back to back. Ladies’ man Archer has trouble dealing with his boss who is also his controlling mother. These are adult situations and adult content. Not for children (under the age of 18) in my opinion. Good writing. (Cartoon. Adult. Explicit Content)

Crimson & Gold: Outdoor Living in the Making
Tis’ the season for outdoor living. Have you begun fixing up your patio? Is it time for a new look that makes way for the chirping birds, laughter, peace and serenity, an ambiance made perfect for outdoor living?!!
It is in my neck of the woods. Here in the Carolinas, we’re experiencing sunny 80-degree weather. Lured by the heat, I was anxious to get outside … and live … even if it was just on my balcony. Hah!
And to welcome the season, I started building upon my outdoor space.
I haven’t set a theme, and I probably won’t. I tend to work better with grabbing pieces that speak to my creative energy.
I also like hi-energy colors–reds, oranges, and golds. And I love patterns–paisleys, florals, shapes and so forth. So here’s a peek of what I’ve done with my patio thus far. If you like reds and golds, you’ll probably like this.

Beauty Tastes So Good at Pamper Parlor: A Fashion Forward Update!
How Fabulous!! I was invited to the Pamper Parlor, hosted by Flawless Make Up Art’s Joy Randall and Jameka Whitten (JSW Media). All of what and WHO are fashionably forward and trendy are in attendance here, at the Residences of Southpark. The ambiance is superb as I’m surrounded with a bird’s eye veiw of shopping frenzies who are in search of good deals, good conversation, and a glimpse of upcoming seasonal trends, powered by Charlotte’s Style Week.
Furthermore, as serendipity will call it to be, Attorney/Writer C.M. Whitener sat next to me as I wrote this blog … another beautiful sister who is brainy and whose knowledge and style seems to come out in her curly natural hair. She’s pretty dope too. My Healthy Living
Cranky much these days? These are 3 things I continue to do in order stay in a good mood, stay fit, and stay focused.
1) Prayer/Meditation–A talk with God, my God, about my relationship with Him, my dreams and aspirations, etc, keeps me sane. Once it’s out there in the Universe, the Universe can began acting on it on my behalf. The same goes for you. Speak life.
2) Exercise–It’s my theory that fat is just stored up stress. And if that’s not true, these two are correlated variables. Exercise helps me burn off stress and maintain my “favorable” figure. An all-round WIN.
3) Eating Right–Ever feel bogged down, heavy, once you’ve eaten a burger midday? It can be quite a challenge to stay productive just afterwards. I believe we call that the “-itis.” Instead of burgers, I might opt for chicken, seafood, or my favorite Bolthouse smoothies.
These are a few ways I stay “pulled-together.” There are others, and I’m sure you have your own. Feel free to share them here

There’s nothing more repugnant than a dishonorable and disrespectful person. Their words are vile, they smell of bile, and their direction of life leads down the never ending road of misfortune.
There’s nothing greater than the celebration of life–you become reenergized by Earth’s molten core, empowered by water, and lifted by God. You are they. And they are we and in touch with Thee.
There’s nothing more beautiful than to just Be. Be happy. Be sad. Be remorseful then glad. And to experience a cyclical of emotion is just to be human and to be alive.

“Beez in the Trap” Review–This be Nicki Lewinsky
For Charlamagne the God to really dig this track as he so tweeted yesterday, I was expecting more from my favorite female rapper–Minaj. Yet the delivery was less than her superbomb usual.
Unlike “Starships,” “Beez in the Trap” is directed for hip hop heads, laced with a nursery rhyme hook that’s simple enough for all the basic folk to get it and rock it … On time!
The first stanza she definitely stands as “The Female Weezy” as she tells that wack chick to “buss it open” or she’ll cut a U-ey (u-turn). Outta control. A bi turn to prove this point, Nicki nails it here.
However, this track lacks smooth transition from line-to-line, metaphors, and a chic’ER hook. Not so much Barbie here. I’d say this is her “Nicki Lewinsky” character she promoted as mixtape, unsigned Nicki.
Though no female rapper can top my Nicki right now, I’m still not giving her a pass for this one. This track lacks lyrical content. And that’s that! Friends are honest with friends.
“A hundred #%*€><^^~ can't tell me nothin.”
And whatever happened to 2 Chainz’ twang accent? There’s a difference in his voice between this track and “Spend It.” You be the judge. Tell me your thoughts.
